Moving Beyond Arithmetic Team

Moving Beyond Arithmetic™ is based at Zion Preparatory Academy, Doug Wheeler is the School Director.

Norman V. Alston is a certified teacher and serves as Mathematician-in-Residence at Zion Prep Academy. He is also the founder of Moving Beyond Arithmetic™ and Explorations In Math. He is is known for his championship Zion Prep Chess Players, and is a highly regarded mathematics teacher in the Puget Sound area. Additionally, he teaches enrichment in the Lake Washington School District, and Algebra & Adult Math Literacy for Philadelphia Public Schools.

Haleigh Alston, a high school junior, is the Saturday Math Academy's lead Teaching Assistant. Haleigh
assists with lesson planning logistics, and is responsible for managing and training student TAs. She is also a skilled math tutor and mentor for the younger students. 

Anita Adams is the Parent and Volunteer Coordinator. She is a community organizer and City of Seattle employee with 10 years of experience working within the community and families.
